Community Initiatives

At Carlingford, we believe that a healthy and vibrant community is good for business. We strive to play a positive role in the community by supporting charities, the arts, sporting clubs, the environment and business programmes. Some of the organisations we have directly or indirectly assisted include:

Save the Children Australia aims to ensure that all children, regardless of gender, race, country of origin or religious belief have the means for survival, receive protection and have access to nutrition, primary health care and basic education.

Save the Children fights for children's rights with the aim of delivering immediate and lasting improvements to children's lives worldwide.

In association with SpiritWest Services, the FRESH program is a community based initiative in the western region of Melbourne which encourages young adults who have not engaged with mainstream education to pursue alternative study programs ensuring their completion of Year 11 & 12 studies.

The VRU is the representative association for rugby in Victoria.
The sport of Rugby continues to expand and develop in Victoria each year. Since Melbourne Rugby Union’s foundation in 1888, the number of Victorians participating in Rugby has continued to grow significantly. In 2007, over 8500 individuals played Rugby in Victoria, a figure that has almost doubled over the past 4 years. Club and spectator numbers continue to rise, and we expect that this unprecedented growth will continue in future years.
Victoria looks forward to becoming a predominant force within Rugby in Australia. The strong heritage and ties that have been built with the Victorian Rugby community have ensured that those involved with the game are passionate and committed to its growth. VRU would like to acknowledge a new partnership with Carlingford who are committed to working with the VRU community to ensure Victoria becomes a dominant Rugby force.

Variety, the Children’s Charity, is an international children’s charity. Variety is a volunteer based charity which was started in the United States in 1927 and is now delivering essential services to children in 18 countries worldwide. Variety’s mission is to bring a little sunshine into the lives of sick, handicapped and under-privileged children. Variety provides a wide range of goods and services including minibuses, wheelchairs, communication devices, life saving medical treatments, education programs and school assistance to our communities ‘Special Children’.
